Traditionally, the required services are brought underground through the ramp. Using the V-30 Head, you can drill a 30’’ (762MM) service raise in which to channel through the services vertically to the different levels, shortening the lengths required.
 
The V-30 raise can also be used as a temporary ventilation raise while driving the ramp. Air friction is reduced (due to shorter length), electric sub stations are less frequent.
